Many days of creation, all in one! Super Special Deal! Get yours now!

Okay, okay... well, now that I've got your attention, here is all the stuff I've been working on since my last post. There's just something about this blog that grabs my attention less than painting, drawing, my Facebook creation page, and other various places.

Anyhow, I wanted to share some of my most recent creations. In no particular order, here they are, my friends...

First, let's get on with another thumbnail sketch of a 365 Create fan from my Facebook page, Jessica...

And then, of course, this silly Photoshop of Tupac Shakur as a ballet dancer... it may seem absurd, but did you know that Tupac actually studied ballet in high school. Not only did he go to high school and graduate, but he went to the best performing arts high school in Baltimore, where he met Jada Pinket-Smith and became lifelong friends with her. I should also emphasize that Tupac Shakur studied ballet...

Then, of course, we have some gesture sketches I did... the first is just human figure sketches.

The next features human figure sketches, then animal figure sketches, and finally some human facial sketches...

A quick, random landscape painting, you say? Of course! Here it is...

And finally, my most recent progress on my mashup digital painting of Super Mario Bros. with Edward Hopper's famous painting "Nighthawks"...

So, it's back to the grind with the Mario Bros./Nighthawks painting now... :) More tomorrow, of course, at least on 365 Create

January 21st - Krause's 3 Laws of Creation

Well, Wednesday night, working two jobs caught up with me while relaxing with a book. After waking up in the middle of the night, I decided to take my Wednesday creation and push it into Thursday.

I realized from my incident Wednesday night/Thursday morning that there are certain conditions/rules that I need to enforce in order to keep up with the task before me. Since I work two jobs, often both in the same day, these rules will help me stay on track. Here are my 3 Laws of Creation:

  • I need to get more than three or four hours of sleep each night to stay motivated, productive, and energetic.
  • I need to finish my creating/learning sooner rather than later in the night, so I can get that sleep.
  • I need to have at least a rough agenda of tasks to accomplish, so that I can get my creating and learning done.

Although this blog is being used to update progress in my year-long project, I am also learning HTML and CSS so that I can create an actual Web page for myself, my art, and other things.

So far tonight, I've practiced a lot of basic HTML stuff, and also put to use some of my random HTML knowledge from the past. I'm using an awesome site called Code Academy, which is a tremendously helpful resource for someone with rusty HTML skills and desire to also learn CSS and more.

I've been playing around with the HTML since around 9:30 PM, and in 30 minutes, I'll take a break for a few minutes, then it's time to start working on the art.

I'll be posting more as the night goes on!

In the beginning, there was... well, there was Facebook, and now this

Since January 1st, 2013, I've been hard at work creating something new every day. During that time, I've ended up focusing mainly on digital painting, with a bit of cooking and writing thrown in for the heck of it. And now, I plan to update this blog with all of my favorite creations from the past 50 or so days. I figure that it's high time to start an actual blog to document my daily progress, and also to make my project accessible to the people who don't use Facebook. I'm just going to post some of my favorite pictures, newest to oldest. Suffice it to say that this is my creation for February 19th, 2013.
